proportion of 80% and a sample size of 235.

1. We are testing Ho : µ = 98 versus H

: µ ø 98. Enter the data into a list, then use T-Test

with Data selected. Using µ

= 98 and µøµ

as the alternative hypothesis, we find that the

p-value is 0.401. Since the p-value is over 5%, we fail to reject the null hypothesis; µ may

be equal to 98.

2. We are testing Ho: p = 75% versus H

: p > 75%. Use 1-PropZTest with Data selected.

Using P

= 0.75, x = 80%(235) = 188, n = 235 and prop> p

as the alternative hypothesis, we

find that the p-value is 0.038. Since the p-value is under 5%, we reject the null hypothesis

and show evidence that p is more than 75%
